A short 15km trip from Kitzbühel and skiers will land in a different world of skiing paradise. Gone are the fur coats and Porsches littering the driveways of the hotels - welcome to an uncluttered and uncomplicated resort, which is as refined as any alpine ski location as well as being part of the world famous 'Ski Welt' region. Westendorf is a compact resort and there's a cosiness here and familial atmosphere that is both welcoming and reassuringly Austrian. Many Dutch and Scandinavians flock to Westendorf year after year partly for its seclusion and partly for the craic.
Westendorf is a beautiful little village with unspoilt scenery and a warm, cosy atmosphere. Set in the heart of the Brixen Valley, it's linked by gondola to the Ski Welt circuit boasting 90 lifts and 284km of prepared piste.
For those who purchase the KitzAlps Super Ski Card, the Ki West Gondola provides access to a further 160km of piste. The nursery slopes in the centre of the village and excellent ski school makes this a great choice for beginners. For intermediates, there is a good choice of runs on the Gampen Kogle and Choralpe area, not to mention the Ski Welt circuit, while the steep and mogulled black and off-piste runs will test the most advanced skiers.
