For those looking for a picture perfect ski resort with jaw-dropping vistas of the surrounding Alps, look no further than the quintessential fairytale village of Arc 1950.
It’s not all about looks with Arc 1950, however - located on the pistes and ski in ski out, the achingly beautiful village is the perfect base to explore the surrounding 425km of Paradiski. Ski directly from your doorstep down towards Arc 1800, or take the free Cabriolet gondola to Arc 2000. A great area for beginner, intermediate and advanced skiers alike, there’s a wealth of blue, red and black runs to tackle nearby! Those seeking the more challenging slopes can make their way north of the resort, while those looking for a more leisurely experience will find everything they need towards the south. The hugely popular Apocalypse Parc, located below Arc 1800 and above Arc 1600, is a snowboarder’s Mecca, and the perfect spot to enhance your skills.
The smallest of Arcs villages, Arc 1950 is known to be the quietest too, and is an ideal spot for families. The car-free resort has a superb ski school, a kid’s club, and a fun entertainment programme, which includes marshmallows parties, sled dog shows, Wii tournaments, and much more to keep little ones entertained! Plus, the fact that the village is so compact and conveniently designed means everything is situated nearby!
Luxurious and the epitome of winter cosiness, the accommodation in Arc 1950 is not only affordable, it’s truly superb too. Travel with Direct Ski and choose from our warm and inviting catered, apartment style chalets, located in the 5 Star Source de Marie Residence, or stay in the beautiful Arc 1950 Le Village apartments, located right in the heart of the resort.
Unlike its livelier sister, 1800, Arc 1950 enjoys a more relaxed but just as enjoyable après ski scene. There are a variety of bars for you to enjoy a casual, post-piste drink and you'll also be able to savour a delicious meal in one of the resort's many restaurants. For a spot of relaxation, take advantage of the village’s outdoor, heated swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs and spa.
Direct Ski also recommends taking the short Cabriolet gondola trip up to Arc 2000, where you’ll find more bars and restaurants, as well as an ice rink, an arcade and a bowling alley! Don’t forget to pay a visit to the resort’s Igloo village, which features an ice sculpture gallery, restaurant and bars. And you can’t leave without visiting the spectacular ice bar, where everything is carved from ice - an experience not to be missed!
